A Portrait of the Brain - Professor Adam Zeman

ON THURSDAY, May 1, 2008, Adam Zeman will discuss his book A Portrait of the Brain at the Louise T Blouin Institute in London.

As well as weaving together fascinating case histories, clear accounts of concepts and discoveries in neuroscience, and an intimate view of the suspense, excitement, fun and angst, that colour a neurologists days, Zeman will examine various neurological disorders, ranging from the familiar such as epilepsy and memory loss to the relatively mysterious narcolepsy and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

In so doing, he will take the audience to the very frontiers of current scientific knowledge and elucidate the workings of the brain in astonishing detail.

Adam Zeman is Professor of Cognitive and Behavioural Neurology at Peninsula Medical School, Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.
