Patrick Swayze to write memoirs
Story by Jack Foley
PATRICK Swayze is to write a memoir, according to his spokeswoman.
The book, which will be co-written with his wife, looks set to chronicle Swayze’s successful movie career to date – which has seen him appear in hit films Dirty Dancing, Point Break and Ghost – as well as his battle with pancreatic cancer.
The 56-year old star has been battling the condition for the past year and, in an interview earlier this month, admitted that he may only have as long as two years to live – although he denied he was near death.
The actor was also released from hospital on January 16, having admitted himself for a week-long stay after suffering pneumonia.
But Swayze is far from giving up hope, and has continued working throughout his treatment. His latest TV show, The Beast, about an FBI veteran who trains a rookie partner, premiered in the US this week.
Swayze completed filming on all episodes of the first series and produces hope that he will continue in the role for a second season if the ratings remain high enough.
A publisher and release date for the book have yet to be confirmed but Swayze’s spokeswoman Annett Wolf confirmed there was plenty of interest.
