Waterstone's Piccadilly to welcome Lucy Fleming

TO celebrate the launch of the new Bond novel, Devil May Care, Waterstone’s Piccadilly will be welcoming Lucy Fleming, niece of James Bond creator Ian Fleming, instore to read from the book.

Devil May Care is, of course, the new Bond novel by Sebastain Faulks and Lucy will be talking about all things Bond. Visitors are welcome to come and join the fun on the first floor of the Piccadilly flagship stores at 6:30pm for an insight into this fasciniating man.

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 and further details are available from 020 7851 2400.

Prior to that, on the morning of May 28, Waterstone’s will be giving away an exclusive print of the cover to the first 200 customers who purchase Devil May Care, as well as serving cocktails and canapes from 8am until 9am.

The Waterstone’s exclusive, luxury, signed and numbered edition will be on sale (while stocks last), rrp £100. The first person in the queue to purchase this edition will get number 7.

Two further events will be held on the same day to celebrate the release of Hurricane Gold, the paperback of the new Young Bond novel from 12-4pm. There will be Bond themed activities, and the chance to be amazed by the sleight of hand of magician David Croft, as well as a James Bond Fancy Dress Competition.

Participants should come along to the children’s department dressed as their favourite James Bond character. Judging will take place at 2pm, and the maximum age entry is 16-years-old.

Up for grabs are three family tickets to the James Bond exhibition at the Imperial War Museum to win.

  1. Nice to see that Fleming’s family is involved but why wouldn’t Jeremy Northam who is narrating the Devil May Care UK audio book be the one doing the reading.
