Allies - Preview and screening competition

Preview by Jack Foley

ALLIES is the action packed true story of a brave few English soldiers fighting their way deep behind enemy lines to bring World War II to a halt. This unmissable story is yours to own on DVD and digital download from November 3, 2014 courtesy of Entertainment One.

Directed by Dominic Burns (Airborne, U.F.O.), this story is brought to life by a talented cast including Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, The Assets) as Captain Gabriel Jackson; Chris Reilly (Game of Thrones, Silent Witness) is Sergeant Harry McBain; Erich Redman (Saving Private Ryan, Rush) as Lieutenant Colonel Kaltz; Matt Jay-Willis (Eastenders) plays Private Billy Munns; Werner Daehn (Enemy at the Gates, Field of Lost Shoes) plays Captain Dekker; Edmund Kingsley (Hugo, Capsule) is Private Yorkie Jones; Steven Hartley (The Bill, Doctors) plays Brigadier General Groves; and Frank LeBoeuf (The Theory of Everything, The Eighth Sin) plays Marcel Deville.

August 1944, a team of British soldiers are led by U.S Captain Jackson (Ovenden) and are dropped behind enemy lines in occupied France on a mission to find a map from the enemy, something so powerful that it could shorten the war.

As nothing goes according to plan, commando Sergeant Harry McBain (Reilly) and U.S Captain Gabriel Jackson know they must put aside personal animosity if the mission to end the war is to succeed. When contact with the wrong local blows their cover, the commandos are thrown into a desperate battle for their lives.

In a race against time to get the intelligence and themselves back safely, it becomes ever more apparent that the ones they considered allies are in fact their greatest enemies.

Inspired by true events, Allies tells the story of true friendship and survival.
