Arrested Development - Season 2 preview

Arrested Development, Season 2

Preview by Jack Foley

JOIN the Bluths, the most dysfunctional and hilarious family in Orange County, for the second season of the award winning comedy series Arrested Development.

The three-disc set of Arrested Development Season 2 was released on DVD on January 23, 2006 by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In this second instalment, long-suffering Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman, Starsky & Hutch, DodgeBall) once again plans an escape from his spoilt and insufferable siblings and heads for Arizona with son George Michael (Michael Cera, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind).

Halfway there, however, he is pulled over by the police who inform him that his father George Snr. (Jeffrey Tambor, Hellboy, The Grinch) has broken out of prison.

It seems the family property business was involved in a shady deal with Iraq, and now that George Snr. is on the run, Michael is forced to return home to clear his own name.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Bluth Family is still adjusting to life without company credit cards… Lindsay’s (Portia de Rossi, Ally McBeal)) husband Tobias (David Cross, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) becomes an understudy for the Blue Man Theatre Group, mummy’s boy Buster (Tony Hale, My Blind Brother) joins the army, and matriarch Lucille begins a torrid affair with her husband’s twin brother, Oscar.

Special guest performances in Arrested Development Season 2 include Ben Stiller, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Christine Taylor, Heather Graham and Liza Minnelli.

This season of the show was awarded The Critic’s Choice Award in the U.S. for Best Comedy, and won two accolades in the American Television Critics’ Awards.

The three-disc set of Arrested Development Season 2 is crammed full of special features, deleted scenes and commentaries. Whether you missed the airing of Season 2 on BBC2, or simply need to keep this wacky family in your life, add Arrested Development Season 2 to your DVD collection this January.
