Chronic (Tim Roth) - Preview

Preview by Jack Foley

DAVID (Tim Roth) is a nurse who works with terminally ill patients.

Efficient and dedicated to his profession, he develops strong and even intimate relationships with each person he cares for.

But outside of his work David is ineffectual, awkward, and reserved. It is clear that he needs each patient as much as they need him.

Directed by Michel Franco, Chronic has been described by The Guardian as “sombre, intelligent” and “finely composed”, with Tim Roth being singled out as “excellent”.

Time Out wrote: “Franco’s script teases out the character’s tangled ambiguities with immaculate control… Roth, meanwhile, is as marvellous as he’s ever been.”

The film also won best screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Chronic (cert. 15) is released on DVD on Monday, April 11, 2016.
