From the star and writer of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and directed by Donald Petrie (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Miss Congeniality), join Nia Vardalos along with Richard Dreyfuss and Alistair McGowan as they tour ancient Greece in this charming romantic comedy.
Vardalos plays Greek-American history professor Georgia, unlucky-in-love and in finding her dream job. Georgia has come to Athens and is working as a tour guide for Pangloss Tours hoping to find an eager audience for her encyclopaedic knowledge of ancient Greece.
Instead, the travellers who regularly fill Georgia’s tours are far more interested in lounging on famous Greek beaches or shopping for tacky souvenirs.
Georgia’s latest tour group is her worst yet. The motley crew is filled with misfits from all over the world including Irv (Dreyfuss) who can always be counted on for a bad joke at every occasion.
To make matters worse, Georgia has been assigned the most dilapidated tour bus in Europe, the crummiest hotels Greece has to offer, and Pangloss’ seemingly mute bus driver, Poupi Kakas (Alexis Georgoulis).
Meanwhile, fellow tour guide Nico (McGowan) unleashes a series of pranks to turn Georgia’s group against her and with everything going wrong, she is ready to quit and leave Greek life behind.
But she forms an unlikely friendship with Irv who takes her on a personal detour showing her how to look for the beauty in people. As Irv plays cupid, and with his help, Georgia finds the Va Va Voom missing from her life. Opening her eyes to new possibilities, she realises that true love may be a lot closer than she thinks.
Set in a beautiful, romantic and picturesque destination, the hilarious Driving Aphrodite is available now, for Valentine’s Day.
