Fox releases UMD schedule

TWENTIETH Century Fox is the latest major film company to support the explosion in Sony PSPs, having recently announced an extensive line-up of movies (both past and present) in UMD format.
The company is to target the core demographic of males aged 18 to 34 with the promise of a ‘burgeoning catalogue] of releases immediately scheduled for subsequent waves’.
Available already are the classic titles Alien, House of Flying Daggers, Dodgeball, iRobot and Robots, as well as Resident Evil and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
According to a statement from Mike Dunn, President Worldwide, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment: “The technologically advanced PSP enables our consumers to experience Fox movies with the same high quality picture and audio to which they have grown accustomed, while securing our film assets with a unique hardware-based copy protection.
“We are extremely supportive of this new technology and are currently assembling a robust library of titles for release that are perfectly suited for the PSP and its core demo.”
