Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach have all the hooking power of a glamorous, angst ridden soap opera with the intriguing addition of a mischievous mockumentary which gives a cynical behind the scenes view of the hilarious antics of the soap’s production team.
Both shows havew been created by Tony Jordan, lead writer and former story consultant for EastEnders, co-creator of Life on Mars and creator of Hustle.
In Moving Wallpaper we meet Jonathan Pope, a man on a mission. That mission is to make the most talked about post-watershed soap opera – Echo Beach – in Britain.
But when your boss hates you, the writers despair of you and the entire cast and crew think you’re a prat, that mission is bound to be a fraught one… Ben Miller is joined by Raquel Cassidy, James Lance, Sarah Hadland, Elizabeth Berrington, Lucy Liemann, Dave Lamb and Sinead Keenan and Susie Amy who appears in both Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach.
In Echo Beach Hugo Speer plays Mark Penwarden, who will stop at nothing to run his wife Susan’s (Martine McCutcheon), ex-lover Daniel Marrack (Jason Donovan) out of the Cornish surfing town Polnarren.
Echo Beach also stars some of the UK’s hottest young talent – Ed Speleers (Eragon), Marcus Patrick (Hollyoaks), Laura Greenwood (Prime Suspect 7), Christian Cook, Jonathan Readwin, Naomi Ryan, Chandeep Uppal and newcomer Hannah Lederer-Alton.
Packed with twists and turns and wonderful comedy and soap opera moments, the DVD format offers the perfect way to get the most out of these two groundbreaking television series – by watching them over, and over again!
