Sarandon to guest on Rescue Me

SUSAN Sarandon is to guest-star in three episodes of the third season of Rescue Me.

The Oscar-winning actress will play a character called Alicia, a rich, successful woman who becomes the latest flame of New York firefighter Franco (Daniel Sunjata).

According to the Hollywood Repoter, her character will seduce Franco by teaching him that an older woman is what he needs.

The acclaimed series is produced by and stars Denis Leary as a fireman on the edge in post 9/11 New York.

It is one of the very best US import shows and the second season has just started on Sky One on Sunday evenings (10pm). Season 3 is currently in production with an early-summer premiere date on US TV.

Sarandon’s three-episode story arc will begin on the second episode of the series.

The signing of the acclaimed actress will be seen as a major coup for the series, strengthening its claim to be among the nominees during the awards season.

It’s hard-hitting mix of biting black comedy and pertinent social commentary makes for compelling viewing and fans can currently buy the first season on DVD.
