The Gingerbread Man (Kenneth Branagh) - Preview

The Gingerbread Man

Preview by Jack Foley

Based on a gripping original story by bestselling thriller writer John Grisham (The Firm), The Gingerbread Man (1998) is tale of murder, madness, revenge and sexual infatuation set in America’s Deep South, directed by Oscar-winning Robert Altman (Gosford Park). It arrives on DVD on August 15, 2016 from Odyssey.

Kenneth Branagh (Valkyrie) stars as cocky Savannah lawyer Rick Magruder, who falls for waitress Mallory Doss (Embeth Davidtz – Schindler’s List), who is being stalked by her cult leader father, Dixon (Robert Duvall – The Godfather).

With help from private eye Clyde Pell (Robert Downey Jr – Iron Man), his acerbic PA Lois (Daryl Hannah – Kill Bill) and Mallory’s ex-husband Pete (Tom Berenger – Platoon), Rick succeeds in getting Dixon institutionalised.

But when Dixon escapes, Rick is forced to go on the run as he fights to clear his name – and save his life. But just who can he trust? And has the legal hotshot been played for a fool?
