Logan Lerman

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Logan Lerman stars in Stuck In Love as aspiring novelist Lou, who attempts to initiate a real relationship with Collins’ fellow classmate Samantha.

Bringing a real understated gravitas to the role, Lerman demonstrates his maturity and ability, further building his increasing reputation as a quality actor on the way to becoming a household name.

Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief (2010)

Logan’s first lead role came in this Harry Potter-esque fantasy adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novel, directed by Chris Columbus. Percy Jackson is the central character; a seemingly ordinary teenage boy living in New York City who soon learns that his father is the mythical God, Poseidon (Kevin McKidd). Featuring an all-star cast ranging from Sean Bean to Uma Thurman, Logan carries the role with the fervour of Daniel Radcliffe as that wizard and then some. Lerman returned as Jackson in 2013 sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

The Three Musketeers (2011)

This all-star adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic, Logan Lerman takes lead role duties yet again, here starring as D’Artagnan, a young man who hopes to become a Musketeer – just as his father was before him. Pitted against a whole array of male actors, including Luke Evans and Orlando Bloom, Lerman proves this is no worry to an actor well on the road to superstardom.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2011)
Critical smash The Perks of Being a Wallfower (pictured) stars Lerman alongside Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. Set in the 90s, the story follows Charlie (Lerman), a shy and unpopular unconventional thinker in his freshman year of high school.

Filled to the brim with endless cultural references, this is an underrated watch that showcases the talents of each of the three main leads, none more so than Lerman.

Lily Collins

Lily Collins, Abduction

Lily Collins stars in Stuck In Love as Samantha, who with the help of her novelist father Bill (Greg Kinnear) has just seen her first novel published. Promiscuous and unattached, Samantha’s world is rocked by classmate Lou (Lerman), who tries his hardest to prove to Samantha that they are more suited than anybody.

Initially, Samantha is a tough character to embrace, but through a performance showing great range Lily Collins – daughter of Phil Collins – demonstrates the character’s humanity and brings realness to the role.

The Blind Side (2009)

Sandra Bullock’s Oscar-winning turn in The Blind Side may have overshadowed Lily Collins’ appearance as Collins Tuohy, daughter of Bullock’s character, Leigh Anne Tuohy. Although not a lead role, Collins makes her presence felt, developing a sweet friendship with Michael Oher, the foster boy with impressive athleticism.

Abduction (2011)

Female lead in this Taylor Lautner-led thriller, Collins stars as Karen Murphy (pictured above), a school friend of Nathan Harper (Lautner) who discovers that his life may not be as it seems. Noticing that an age-progression photo looks like him he begins to suspect his mum and dad may not be his biological parents. Uncovering a web of lies, Nathan and Karen go on the run to discover the truth.

Mirror Mirror (2012)

Victim of unfortunate timing, Mirror Mirror’s glitzy oh-so sweet version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs faced off against Kristen Stewart’s moodier outlook, Snow White & the Huntsman. Starring alongside Julia Roberts, Collins showcased her abilities to lead an all-star cast and brought her to the attention of audiences globally.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)
What’s an aspiring actor/actress’ career without a lead role in a fantasy adaptation? In Lily Collins’ case, this came in the form of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones based on Cassandra Clare’s novel.

Set in an urban and contemporary New York City, teenager Clary Fray discovers she descends from a line of warriors who protect our world from demons. With a sequel announced, get used to seeing Lily Collins’ face on the big (and small) screen, as she’s going nowhere for a while yet.
