WRITTEN by Jack Thorne, (Skins, Shameless) The Scouting Book For Boys won ‘Best British Newcomer’ award for its screenplay at The Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival when it showed last year.

Produced by Christian Colson (Slumdog Millionaire) and Ivana MacKinnon, The Scouting Book For Boys is the directorial debut feature from Tom Harper (BIFA Award winning and BAFTA nominated short films Cubs, 2006 and Cherries, 2007). It is available to buy on DVD from Monday, August 23, 2010.

Starring Thomas Turgoose (This is England, Somers Town) and Holliday Grainger (Awaydays), the cast also includes Susan Lynch, Rafe Spall and Steven Mackintosh.

Best friends David and Emily love their carefree life on a coastal caravan park. When David learns that Emily is being forced to move away, he helps her hide out in a remote cave on the beach.

But their innocent secret soon becomes complicated, as David watches the police close in on his missing friend. When the real reason Emily wants to escape comes to light, David’s world is shattered.

Swept up in a situation out of his control, and with his feelings for his best friend growing stranger by the day, David is forced to take action.
