The Shield: Season 4

Preview by Jack Foley

SMASHING the conventions of the cop drama, The Shield plays out in the brutal, morally ambiguous world of an LA police precinct.

Featuring 13 gritty episodes of the award-winning series, Season Four is available to buy on DVD from July 2, 2007, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Series regulars Michael Chiklis (Miami Vice, Fantastic 4), Benito Martinez (Saw, Outbreak) and CCH Pounder (TV’s ER and The West Wing) are joined by 5-time Academy Award® nominee Glenn Close.

Season Four sees the introduction of new Captain, Monica Rawling (Close). Thrust into a battleground of personal and professional conflicts, it isn’t long before she makes her presence felt.

Enlisting the help of Vic (Chiklis), newly returned to routine detective duty after the collapse of his Strike Force, she begins a radical overhaul of ‘the Barn.’ Together they resolve to bring down the ‘untouchable’ drug-lord, Antwon Mitchell (Anthony Anderson, The Departed, Romeo Must Die).

Acclaimed and uncompromising, the eagerly awaited DVD release of The Shield: Season Four is guaranteed to thrill fans of the series and newcomers alike.

The sixth series of The Shield is showing on terrestrial TV’s Five in July.
