THE truth will finally be out there when the X-Files are reopened on DVD and Blu-ray on November24, 2008.

Released by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment The X-Files: I Want To Believe reunites paranormal favourites Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they battle to solve a terrifying mystery in the eerie snowfields of rural Virginia.

A standalone story that heralds the welcome return of the X-Files phenomenon, The X-Files: I Want to Believe is a gripping thriller that brings Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully (Anderson) out of FBI retirement to solve one last horrifying case. Offering their expertise to agent Dakota Whitney (Amanda Peet) the duo set out to solve the mysterious disappearances of a number of women from a small Virginian town.

When body parts begin to turn up in the snow the case takes a horrifying turn and Mulder and Scully find themselves at the centre of one of their most shocking cases.

Directed and written by series creator Chris Carter and executive producer Frank Spotnitz, The X-Files: I Want To Believe features an A-list cast as well as the return of series veteran Mitch Pileggi as F.B.I Assistant Director Walter Skinner.

The DVD is packed with extras including the brilliant Digital Copy feature which allows people to copy the movie onto their computers and other portable devices (available on the 2 disc DVD only).

The Blu-ray also includes the exciting new BD-Live feature which allows viewers to take full advantage of the high-def format’s ‘web-enhanced’ functionality with exclusive features, games, additional content and connectivity to other BD-Live users and X-Files fans nationwide.

The X-Files Dossier allows BD-Live users to create their own Special Agent avatar that can browse agent Dakota Whitney’s case files, they can also post their own notes and theories online and download other profiles directly to their BD player memory files.

Furthermore, fans can become an agent-in-training by helping Agent Drummy to solve some tough forensic challenges.

Additional BD-exclusive features include picture-in-picture commentary with series creator Chris Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz along with The X-Files Complete Interactive Timeline, an on-screen track chronicling the entire series mythology.

Fans can also delve deeper than ever before with the director’s cut DVD and BD which includes never-before-seen footage and hours of special features content.
