STUDIOCANAL, in association with British Pathe is pleased to announce the DVD premiere of Time To Remember, a landmark series recounting, through the exclusive use of British Pathé’s newsreel footage, the dramatic social, political and cultural transformation of the Western World in the first half of the 20th century.
Divided into 12 thematic episodes, this series is based on the stunning footage and narrative of the 1950s landmark documentary series of the same name. Now updated for a 21st century audience, Time To Remember promises to yet again captivate audiences of all generations and demonstrate its enduring appeal.
Executively produced by David Okuefuna, Time To Remember explores the iconic and pivotal moments, as well as the new and passing social trends, which served to define the early 20th century.
A period of renowned change, this period coincided with the emergence of cinema, and for the first time in History, the events of that time, both iconic and commonplace, were captured on film.
In making use of this extraordinary footage, Time To Remember provides a rare glimpse into the past as it really was.
From Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee to the allied victory in 1945, via suffragettes, flappers and music hall stars, all aspects of the society are featured in this wide-ranging series.
All of which is held together by an exceptional script, brought to life by a host of celebrated British actors, including Sir Michael Redgrave, Sir Ralph Richardson, Joyce Grenfell and Sir Anthony Quayle, and with sequences linked by Lesley Sharp.
Included in the release are 12 × 30 minute episodes collectively covering the period 1896 – 1945, comprised exclusively of archive footage with no in vision presenter and narrated by a host of celebrated British actors.
