A Taste of London - Regent's Park
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
FOR FOUR days – from June 15 to June 18, 2006 – and for the fourth consecutive year, A Taste of London will bring together the capital’s finest restaurants and most famous chefs.
This year, 40 of London’s most prestigious restaurants will gather in Regent’s Park, to prepare and serve their signature dishes; while wines, cocktails and beer will be served in the Match Bar.
Visitors can improve their culinary skills by watching experts in action in Your M&S Chefs’ Theatre. Taking part will be Mark Edwards and Vineet Bhatia (Japanese and Indian cuisine), Antonio Carluccio, Michael Roux Jr, Aldo Zilli and Jean Christophe Novelli.
The Wine Theatre and The Speciality Beer Academy will offer a selection of the world’s finest beers, wines and champagne; while in the World Cheese Award marquee visitors will be invited to taste cheese from around the globe.
The Cookery School, new this year, gives visitors the chance to learn from the best chefs in the capital. Tickets are limited and available at an additional cost.
Meanwhile, at The Gordon Ramsay Sunday Lunch Enclosure, Ramsay will not only be launching his new book but, along with top chefs from his award-winning London kitchens, be creating featured recipes.
And if all that isn’t enough, there will be over 130 exhibitors – of speciality foods, drinks and ingredients that visitors can buy and enjoy at home.
Tickets range from £15 to £95
Crowns (included in some prices) are the show’s official currency and must be used to pay for sample dishes from restaurants and drinks from exhibitors and bars.
