Autumn 2010 Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair
THIS YEAR, the Autumn Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair will take place at The Marquee, Battersea Park, from Tuesday, September 28 to Sunday, October 3, 2010.
More than 135 dealers will take part – in fact, such was the demand for space that stands will also be located in the Foyer for the first time.
New exhibitors at the Fair include Hector Finch Lighting (antique lights and lamps), Anthony Hepworth Fine Art (modern and contemporary art), 52 Metres (20th century design), Angelika Friebe (map and print specialist), Pars Rug Gallery (with a wide selection of antique and 20th century carpets), Pinn & Lennard (country furniture and metalware) and Huw Griffiths, who gives new life to antique mirrors using vintage textiles.
Also not to be missed is the Foyer Loan Exhibition from the Kennel Club Art Gallery – the largest collection of canine art in Europe. The collection features works by artists famous for their depictions of dogs, such as Maud Earl, George Earl, Richard Ansdell, Arthur Wardle and Cecil Aldin.
Amongst some splendid paintings and historic objects on display will be the world-famous Keddell Memorial Trophy awarded for Crufts Best in Show. This will be the first time the silver Crufts Cup has been exhibited outside a Kennel Club event.
The Decorative Fair is a fun, friendly and inspiring environment in which to:
1. Buy original, one-off designs at competitive prices.
2. See beautiful ideas for incorporating antiques in modern or classic decorating schemes.
3. Discover more about fine craftsmanship and 20th century designers.
4. Pick up a quirky or unique accessory without breaking the bank (items can be found priced from as little as £20).
Looking ahead to the Winter Fair 2011 (January 18 to January 23), the Foyer theme will be Let There Be Light! Unusual Ways with Mirrors & Illumination.
