Bali Day - Horniman Museum
BALI DAY, which celebrates Balinese culture with story-telling, dance and music, will take place at the Horniman Museum on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
Visitors can get close up to real Balinese objects in a special Discovery For All session , which runs from 2pm to 3.30pm.
There is also a rare opportunity to learn the unique percussive chanting of Kecak in a free half-day workshop with Professor I Wayan Dibia, one of the world’s leading scholar-performers of the performing arts in Bali.
Please book in advance for the Kecak workshop, which runs from 10am to 12 noon.
Bali Day is part of a programme of events to complement the current exhibition Bali – Dancing for the Gods, which runs until January 8, 2012.
