Preview by Jack Foley
FOR the first time in DC Comics history, Batman – the world’s most popular DC Super Hero – can be experienced as you’ve never seen him before, in an all-new, live-action arena adventure, which is set to take the world by storm.
Coming to London’s O2 Arena from August 24 to September 4, 2011, BATMAN LIVE – World Arena Tour is a multi-million pound stage production of unprecedented scale and a must-see for families and Batman fans everywhere.
Written exclusively by two of the comic book world’s most highly regarded writers, BATMAN LIVE is a theatrical extravaganza of thrilling stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions.
The live show will feature a number of familiar DC Comics characters with Batman joined by his sidekick, Robin, as well as butler Alfred.
They will battle against villains such as The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and The Penguin.
The specially written story will take place in several settings, including Gotham City, Wayne Manor, the Batcave and Arkham Asylum – which the show’s creators promise will be brought to life with “impressive stunts, pyrotechnics, illusions and video screen sequences”.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 9am.
In addition to the O2 dates in London, the show will open at Manchester’s MEN Arena on July 20, before also visiting Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham and Dublin.
The tour will end its run at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena with producers hopeful that the production will then transfer to America in the summer of 2012.
