Carnaval del Pueblo: the Story - Cuming Museum
AN EXHIBITION celebrating the London Latin American community’s cultural impact on London, Carnaval del Pueblo: the Story, is on display at the Cuming Museum until May 28, 2010.
The exhibition tells the story of the growth of London’s Latin American community since the 1960s, when the first emigrants came to Britain seeking political asylum.
It also explores and celebrates the art and performance that have made Carnavel del Pueblo, which is held annually in August, the largest Latin American carnival in Europe.
Associated workshops cover topics such as jewellery making, dance and music. For details visit the websites (see right hand panel).
Times: Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
