Constable Portraits: The Painter and His Circle

AN EXHIBITION entitled Constable Portraits: The Painter and His Circle will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery from March 5 to June 14, 2009.
This exhibition will explore the life and the works of John Constable (1776 – 1837) and for the first time focus on his portraits.
Images of the artist himself will be shown alongside his portraits of friends and family, interspersed with Constable’s beautiful landscape paintings of the area surrounding his home.
Collectively, they will provide a fascinating study of Constable’s environment, influences and way of life.

Gerhard Richter Portraits will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery from February 26 to May 31, 2009.
