Diana, Fashion and Style Exhibition
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
A NEW exhibition entitled Diana, Fashion and Style is on display at Kensington Palace until January 1, 2009.
The exhibition of twelve dresses, seven of which have never before been displayed at Kensington Palace, focuses on the development of the Princess’s style – from the romantic ruffles of the early 1980s to the sophisticated silhouette of the mid 1990s.
The dresses include an early evening dress by Donald Campbell from 1983 and a little black dress from 1995 by Gianni Versace. Also included is the ink blue silk velvet Victor Edelstein creation the princess wore when she danced with John Travolta at the White House in 1985.
Many of the dresses on display were designed by Princess Diana’s favourite couturier, Catherine Walker.
Exhibition entry is included in the palace admission ticket: adult – £12.30, child (under 16) – £6.15, concessions – £10.75, family – £34.
Times: Monday to Sunday – 10am to 6pm (last admission 5pm).
