Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
THE annual Hampton Court Palace Flower Show takes place from July 5 to July 10, 2011. It is the world’s largest annual flower show and this year is celebrating its 21st anniversary.
A stunning centrepiece feature, The RHS Edible Garden, showcases the very best in Grow Your Own, with every element of the feature having an end use, mainly edible.
The show also celebrates famous historic poets in the Six English Poets’ Gardens, which are based on poems by Keats, Shelly, Byron, Wordsworth, Kipling and Lewis Carroll.
A new feature this year is the RHS Experience – an interactive display to show visitors their garden can transform the urban area.
Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is famous for its roses and this year is no exception with the Rose of the Year 2012 lighting up the display.
A fusion of art and horticulture will be unveiled this July, with a record number of provocative new designs in the Conceptual Gardens category.
There will also be a Swinging Sixties floristry and fashion show.
And when you need time to relax, there are a number of dining areas where you can enjoy live music. There’s also a wealth of retail stands offering all that a gardener’s heart could desire.
