Ice Skating and more at Somerset House
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
THE ICE rink at Somerset House will be open until January 25, 2009 and as well as skating, there will be a number of additional activities. These include special Late Skate sessions from 10.30pm to 11.30pm every Friday and Saturday.
On Friday nights some of London’s hottest DJs will also be playing live to create a real party atmosphere as you skate. Kicking off at 8pm, these sessions will continue until midnight. And they are:
Horse Meat Disco – January 9.
Desdemona Plays Pop – January 16.
Batmacumba – January 23.
The bar is open throughout for mulled wine or bubbly and its free to spectate so even those who don’t want to skate can visit the ultimate West End hotspot.
And if you’re detoxing in January, why not get some fresh air and learn some new skills at Skate School. But it’s an early start, sessions running from 8am to 9am – on Tuesdays, January 6, 13 and 20; Wednesdays, January 7, 14 and 21; and Thursdays, January 8, 15 and 22.
