Invest in Property Show (2006)
Preview by Jack Foley
THE Invest in Property Show returns to London this April providing expert advice and the most up to the minute information for all levels of investor.
It is predicted that this year the UK will spend an additional 50% on property investment, as year after year all the major equity increases come from property.
The pension crisis, the lack of company schemes and prospect of working for longer has fuelled the growth in the property market.
For first time buyer the show, taking place at Earl’s Court from April 21 to 23, 2006, is designed to be educational and informative with advice and reassurance on making those first steps.
All home owners will benefit from advice on how to increase the equity on their property. While for the more experienced investor, who may already have a number of properties in their portfolio, the show will identify emerging locations which have yet to realise their potential.
The four free seminar theatres will host hundreds of workshops and talks covering all aspects of investing in property.
Included here are the current UK property hot-spots, how to take the first steps to build a property portfolio, the rights and powers of being a landlord, tax issues, what the market is really doing and how to finance a buy-to-let.
Property law experts Blevins Franks and John Howells will be running a number of seminars covering international investment hot spots and how to maximise local tax opportunities. Show sponsors Moneycorp will also be on hand to offer tailored foreign exchange advice.
For those who are looking to move up the property ladder and increase equity in their property, TV’s Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan of Channel 5’s popular How Not to Decorate show will be hosting the Inspiration Theatre.
The dynamic and entertaining duo will provide must-have insights, top-tips and key pointers for investors who want to develop and maximise the potential value of their property.
Joining them will be garden expert and prime time presenter David Domoney whose shows include: Better Homes, House Auction, Solution Street, Garden Doctor and House of Horrors.
In 2005, David was awarded “Best City Garden” at Chelsea Flower Show and he will be showing visitors how, by investing just a few hundred pounds in their garden or outdoor space, they can realise the selling potential of their property – even increasing equity by up to £10k – and achieve a quicker sale into the bargain!
Vinny Lee, Interiors Editor of The Times Magazine will be enlightening visitors regarding the psychology of colour at home. The stage will cover everything from the latest interior trends and colour schemes, to flooring, windows, loft conversions and conservatories with companies exhibiting enabling visitors to research and source the latest products for home-improvements.
Also at the show visitors can meet up with house builders, developers and estate agents from throughout the UK as well as overseas, who are specifically picked for the investment potential of their properties.
Countries represented include the ever popular Spain and France as well as newer destinations such as Estonia and Croatia.
These areas are capturing the attention of the adventurous investor who wants to own a piece of increasingly valuable real estate. Bulgaria, too, is the new buzzword with forward thinking buyers.
One emerging market is Dubai and the Invest in Dubai feature and seminars have been introduced as a direct response to the increase in revenue being invested as consumers recognise its rapid growth in regeneration.
Luxurious living, the finest cuisine and world class shopping are the hallmarks of Dubai and it also has a dynamic and buoyant real estate market with current record low interest rates and under-performing stock markets – great news for potential investors!
Exhibitors Emaar Properties have witnessed tremendous growth in the Dubai market since their inception in 1997 and are pioneers in driving growth and sustainability in the regional real estate market. Representatives will be providing their world-class expertise for the duration of the show.
If you want to know how to get into the commercial property market and investment is something you are already involved with or are considering, then the show can help with this too with advice on how to get started, through to meeting commercial letting agents who can help with marketing properties.
The show also provides a wealth of exhibitors from UK and Overseas Developers, Estate Agents, Mortgage Providers, Lawyers, Tax Specialists, Land Agents, Landlord Series, Governing Bodies and Associations. There are even live property auctions with nationwide UK and Spanish properties up for sale everyday.
They say knowledge is power, so invest some time at the Invest in Property Show this April for the latest property ‘know-how.’
