London MCM Expo 2006 at ExCel - Preview

THE London MCM Expo will be returning to ExCeL over the weekend of May 27 and 28, 2006, when fans of film and TV will get the chance to interact with some of their favourite stars.
Special guests from hit shows such as 24, Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek will be on hand to sign autographs and answer questions, while Twentieth Century Fox will be offering film fans the chance to gain a first-look sneak-peek at fantasy epic, Eragon which is due for world-wide release in December. There will also be a wide range of stands from dealers and traders from across the world, offering you the chance to purchase quality items and hard-to-get collectibles.
The stands take in many different genres, including anime, manga, models, action figures, DVDs, videos, posters, beanies, Stargate, Star Wars, books, comics, trading cards and a whole load more!
A host of guest talks and presentations in the main stage area have also been planned to provide fans with unique access to top celebrities, as well as up-to-date information about their favourite films and TV shows.
Among the highlights of this year’s event is a visit by no less than five members of the hit real-time show, 24. Primary among them is series regular, Carlos Bernard, who plays CTU agent Tony Almeida, as well as Gregory Itzin (President Logan), Roger Cross (Curtis Manning), Kim Raver (Audrey Raines) and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe).
Their visit will be an absolute must-see for anyone dying to learn more about 24’s explosive fifth season, now showing on Sky One. Read more

Anime Village@Expo, which has already become the largest Anime/Manga event in the UK with all of the UK’s top distributors participating.

Robot Zone@Expo – offering fans of TV’s Robot Wars the chance to see the actual robots in real life.
‘Artists Alley’ – offering the chance to meet professionals from both the Comic & Trading Card world, and to watch them demonstrating their skills.
And Chillerfest@Expo for all you fans of everything Horror & Paranormal!
London MCM Expo is open from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, May 27, and from 11am to 5pm on the Sunday. Tickets cost £7 per day for adults (15 and above) or £3 per day for children (11 to 14). Kids aged 10-years and below can enter for free (although this is limited to two FREE children per full paying adult).
Excel is located at the Royal Victoria Docks, London, E16, UK. (Please note: From Friday, May 26, there will be no DLR service due to engineering works from Canning Town to Beckton Station – a 5-minute shuttle bus service will be in operation from Canning Town for visitors travelling to the London Expo.)
