Out of this World - British Library
Exhibition preview
AN EXHIBITION entitled Out Of This World: science fiction but not as you know it is on display at the British Library until September 25, 2011.
The exhibition explores a range of imaginings that have provoked hopes and dreams, exhilaration and fear – and sees how science fiction has influenced scientific discovery.
Divided into sections that concentrate on various concepts – Alien Worlds, Future Worlds, Parallel Worlds and Virtual Worlds – Out Of This World also looks at the possibilities of The Perfect World and The End of the World.
And each interactive area invites visitors to look at sci-fi inspired exhibits, and ask questions on who we are, what is reality and what will the future be like?
There are also a number of events accompanying the exhibition.
