Royal Watercolour Society Annual Exhibition
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
THE ROYAL Watercolour Society Annual Exhibition, featuring a retrospective of paintings by Olwen Jones RWS, will be on display at Bankside Gallery from March 14 to April 13, 2008.
The artist is inspired by botanical gardens and glass houses which she uses to create bold yet calm and tranquil works.
The Members of the Royal Watercolour Society are deeply influenced by the places in which they have lived and worked, as well as by the people in their lives and the cultures in which they are surrounded.
An unpredictable and unique medium, watercolour lends itself to all kinds of interesting effects that represent the many different inspirations of the Society’s Members.
The Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) at Bankside Gallery is the premier centre for excellence for the art of watercolour. The Society aims to encourage innovation in, and raise the profile of, this quintessentially English medium.
All works will be for sale.
Times: Daily from 11am to 6pm.
