THE Serpentine Gallery has announced its 40th Anniversary Exhibition and Architecture Programme, 2010.
Richard Hamilton: Modern Moral Matters – March 3 to April 25.
To start its 40th anniversary year, the Serpentine Gallery is presenting a solo exhibition by Richard Hamilton, one of the world’s most respected living artists. This will be the first major exhibition of Hamilton’s work in London since 1992.
Phyllida Barlow and Nairy Baghramian – May 8 to June 13.
The work of Berlin-based Nairy Baghramian and London-based Phyllida Barlow shares common sensibilities through its exploration of three-dimensional form, space and narrative. The exhibition will, for the first time, create a dialogue between the work of these two fascinating sculptors.
Wolfgang Tillmans – June 26 to August 30.
His distinctive view of contemporary culture has made Wolfgang Tillmans, winner of the Turner Prize in 2000, one of the most significant artists of today. His work as a photographer has won him worldwide acclaim and his practice embraces many roles including curator, designer, critic and historian.
Serpentine Gallery Pavilion – July 5 to October 20.
The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion commission is an ongoing programme of temporary structures by internationally acclaimed architects and designers and is unique worldwide.
Pavilion architects to date are: Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizwa, SANAA, 2009; Frank Gehry, 2008; Olafur Eliasson and Kjetil Thorsen, 2007; Rem Koolhaas and Cecil Balmond, with Arup, 2006; Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura with Cecil Balmond, Arup, 2005; Oscar Niemeyer, 2003; Toyo Ito with Arup, 2002; Daniel Libeskind with Arup, 2001; and Zaha Hadid, 2000.
Autumn Exhibition – September 11 to November 7.

Philippe Parreno – November 23 to January 23, 2011.
In his first exhibition in a UK public gallery, Paris-based artist Philippe Parreno will exhibit a wide range of work, which will continue to focus on ideas of narrative, collaboration and authorship. His work encompasses a diverse array of media, including sculpture, installation, film and photography.
Admission to gallery: Free.
Times: Daily from 10am to 6pm.
