SHAKESPEARE’s Globe Trust has completed the first stage of an ambitious reconfiguration project with the aim to attract new visitors and re-imagine the visitor experience on site.
The work was carried out in partnership with Cultural Innovations and Hyper Exhibitions and ran from August until October. The project involved an extensive review of the existing content of the Globe Exhibition. The next stage of the project will seek to develop the ongoing range of activities and events that the exhibition offers.
These practical improvements make up a long term commitment by Shakespeare’s Globe Trust to concentrate on enhancing customer care as well as manage service levels across ancillary activities such as catering and retail.
As Andrew Macnair, Marketing Director at Shakespeare’s Globe explained:
“The work that we undertook with Cultural Innovations and Hyper Exhibitions covers various aspects, of which the reconfiguration for the exhibition is only the first stage. Essentially our challenge is to improve the overall visitor experience within the tour and exhibition so that it emulates the very best of what Shakespeare’s Globe has to offer as an educational and performing arts venue.”
Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition provides an engaging and informed introduction to the theatre of Shakespeare’s time and the London in which he lived and worked. Every aspect of Shakespeare’s work is brought imaginatively to life using a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations exploring the roles of actor, musician and audience. A visit to the exhibition includes a fascinating tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre by experienced tour guides.
Times: daily – May to September from 9am to 5pm and October to April from 10am to 5pm.
