Silent Corners/Hinterland - 3 Bedfordbury Gallery
SILENT Corners, an exhibition of photographs by Lou Boileau, will be on display at 3 Bedfordbury Gallery from February 8 to February 13, 2011.
Boileau’s images give a behind the scenes view from motor racing events around the world, from Le Mans 24 hour to a GT race in St. Luis-Argentina.
Photographed over the course of six years, these landscape and portrait photographs document the sport in a unique and exciting way.
Lou Boileau is predominately a portrait photographer and has photographed many well-known faces for various publications. Norman Wisdom and Sister Wendy Becket are among his sitters. He has six pieces in the National Portrait Gallery Collection. To view his portfolio visit www.louboileau.com.
Silent Corners will be followed – from February 16 to March 7, 2011 – by Hinterland – The spaces in between, an exhibition of photographs by Barry Cawston.
Barry Cawston’s work takes him all over the globe, from the breathtaking panoramas of China’s changing urban landscape to the Amazonian rainforests of Brazil. Hinterland – the spaces in between is a selection of his work produced over the past decade.
Shot on a large format camera, the photographs apper almost like paintings. They delve beneath the surface to show both a beauty and reality that might be overlooked at a glance. These landscapes, cityscapes and interiors are not only a delight of shape, pattern, colour and texture, each image is also coupled with a much deeper narrative.
Cawston is the winner of numerous awards including the Exeter Contemporary Open 2007 with Tibetan Cowboy, Lhasa and RWA Presidents prize award 2008. For more information visit www.barrycawston.com
The Capital Culture group exhibition, a collection of fine art photography, is on display at 3 Bedfordbury Gallery until January 23, 2011.
