FOR THE first time in 50 years, 80 of Lord Snowdon’s most iconic images will go on sale – from September 18 to October 31, 2006, at the Chris Beetles Gallery in London.
Lord Snowdon is one of the most respected photographers of our time and in a career that has spanned 50 years and embraced such diverse subjects as rich and poor, theatre and film, high society and social change, has uniquely defined a generation.
The show will include images of Noel Coward, JRR Tolkien, Peter Cook, The Goons, Franco Zeffirelli, Jack Nicholson, Leonard Bernstein, Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev, Arthur Miller, Tom Stoppard and Henry Moore.
And as well as many other famous faces either posing or caught in action, the show will include portraits of Lord Snowdon’s ex-wife Princess Margaret, portraits of Princess Diana, Princess Grace of Monaco and other Royals.
Also included will be images from his famous 1958 book, London, plus others from Germany, India, Peru and Russia, as well as other parts of the world.
