The Decca Years: The Rolling Stones 1962 - 1971
PROUD Chelsea, in association with Raj Prem Fine Art Photography, is hosting an exhibition of the very greatest images of the Rolling Stones taken between 1962 and 1971 when they were signed to Decca Records
Aptly entitled The Decca Years: The Rolling Stones 1962 – 1971, it runs from September 14 to October 23, 2011 at the Chelsea venue.
Considered by some to be their most creative and critically acclaimed years, this collection is a visual testament to the cultural ferment between art and music in the 1960s.
Featuring the works of Gered Mankowitz, Dominique Tarlé and Michael Cooper, this exhibition will intimately document the rise of one of the most charismatic and controversial bands of their time.
Including Michael Joseph’s Hogarthian portraits from the Beggars Banquet shoot in 1968 and Dominique Tarlé’s evocative and sensual photographs from Villa Nellcôte in the South of France where Exile on Main Street was recorded, this collection will appeal to both Stones lovers and collectors.
Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 7pm; Wednesday 10am to 8pm.
