Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

West End Live, the Leicester Square event that offers two free days of the very best in West End entertainment, will take place on June 17 and June 18, 2006.

Among the West End shows performing will be Chicago, Mamma Mia!, The Lion King, Guys and Dolls, Stomp, The Producers, Footloose and Blue Man Group.

There will also be music and dance contributions from The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Borderline, Ain’t Nothin’ But, MTV, Sound London, Zoo Nation and many others.

But West End Live is more than just a stage show. Fantastic interactive exhibits and displays will provide an incredible variety of family entertainment throughout the weekend.

Madame Tussauds, the Theatre Museum, Hamleys, the British Film Institute, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery will all be contributing, along with a host of entertainers including magicians, make-over artists, storytellers and stuntmen.

With media partners Capital Radio, Capital Gold and MTV involved, this year’s event is expected to attract more than last year’s total of around 500,000 visitors.
