Adam Sandler and Twilight lead Razzie nominations (2012)

ADAM Sandler and the penultimate Twilight movie have come out worst in the Razzie nominations, the spoof awards ceremony formally known as The Golden Raspberrys.

Sandler took the biggest hit with a total of 11 nods attached to his various projects over the past year. His Jennifer Aniston rom-com Just Go With It took five nominations, while his cross-dressing comedy Jack & Jill picked up a total of 12.

Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star, for which Sandler wrote the screenplay, notched up six nominations.

Sandler received a worst actor and actress nomination for Jack & Jill, in which he plays both the male and female roles, while his co-stars Katie Holmes and Al Pacino, who plays himself in the movie, bagged nominations in the worst supporting categories.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 was shortlisted for worst film alongside Sandler’s Jack & Jill and Bucky Larson, as well as New Year’s Eve and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.

Twilight‘s other nominations included a worst actor nod for Taylor Lautner as well as worst actress for Kristen Stewart and worst on-screen couple for either Stewart and Lautner or Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

This year’s awards, which are usually handed out the day before the Oscars, will be presented on April 1 so as to allow its voting members – he Golden Raspberry Foundation – more time to see the nominated movies.
