AL Pacino is set to replace Robert De Niro on new police thriller Son Of No One.

To be written and directed by Dito (Fighting/A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints) Montiel, the film will follow the fortunes of a young police officer (played by Montiel regular Channing Tatum) as he is assigned to walk the beat in the working class neighbourhood where he grew up.

However, his life and family are put at risk when an old, ugly secret from his past begins to resurface.

Pacino and Tatum are joined on the cast by Katie Holmes and Ray Liotta with shooting due to begin next month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
