Alien prequel confirmed by Scott
Story by Jack Foley
A PREQUEL to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Alien is in the works, according to the director’s brother Tony.
Collider.com reports that little known director Carl Rinsch will step behind the camera with brothers Tony and Sir Ridley producing.
The former confirmed the news at a US press conference for his latest movie, The Taking of Pelham 123, where he also denied that the film was a remake of the original.
Very few plot details are known, although Empire Online has since speculated that it could focus on how the aliens first colonised the planet discovered by Ripley and company on their first, ill-fated mission.
Scott did say that Twentieth Century Fox will produce the movie and that the cameras could start rolling by the end of the year if everything goes to plan.
