Andrea Riseborough joins James McAvoy's Welcome to the Punch

ANDREA Riseborough has landed the female lead alongside James McAvoy in new British crime thriller Welcome to the Punch.

The film, to be directed by Eran Creevy, focuses on the unlikely union that develops between a detective (McAvoy) and a criminal (played by Mark Strong) as they uncover a conspiracy.

Production is due to commence in London in July, with Ridley Scott and Liza Marshall executive producing for Scott Free.

Riseborough is currently one of the UK’s most in-demand actresses following acclaimed performances in Brighton Rock and Made in Dagenham

She also recently appeared in Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go and next stars in Madonna’s W.E.. She’s also reportedly in talks to co-star in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina.
