Angelina Jolie in talks to star in Murder on the Orient Express

Story by Jack Foley

ANGELINA Jolie is in talks to star in Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express.

If successful, the actress-turned-director would play Mrs Harriet Hubbard, a role once played by Lauren Bacall.

The story will focus on Agatha Christie’s famed special detective Hercule Poirot and unfolds on board a train from Jerusalem to Europe where a murder is committed in the car next to Poirot during a snowstorm.

The world famous sleuth then tries to discover the murderer or murderers before there’s another victim.

There have already been several adaptations of the book, with Sidney Lumet’s 1974 movie, starring Albert Finney as Poirot along with Ingrid Bergman, Bacall and Sean Connery, the best known.

Michael Green has penned the screenplay for the latest version, which is expected to start shooting in November in London before moving to Malta.

Fox has currently slated the film for a November 22, 2017 release.
