Story by Jack Foley

ANNA Kendrick has joined the cast of a new cancer comedy drama starring James McAvoy and Seth Rogen.

The untitled project is based on the real-life experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser, who was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s, and successfully battled the disease over several years. McAvoy will play the writer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In a further development, Jonathan Levine has been hired to direct the film after original director Nicole Holofcener left over location differences.

Kendrick, who is currently riding high off the success of Up In The Air and the Twilight franchise, will play a character called Katherine, a young psychologist assigned to treat McAvoy’s character in spite of her lack of real life experience.
