One Day, Anne Hathaway

Story by Jack Foley

ANNE Hathaway has been confirmed to play the coveted role of Fantine in the forthcoming big screen version of classic musical Les Miserables.

She joins co-stars Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe in the project, which is being directed by Tom Hooper as his follow-up to the Oscar-winning The King’s Speech.

The film has been pencilled in for a December 7, 2012 release in the US.

Jackman has the role of Jean Valjean and Crowe will play Inspector Javert in this latest adaptation of the classic Victor Hugo novel and stage play, based upon an adapted screenplay by William Nicholson (Gladiator).

Hathaway’s casting continues her hot streak of late… she has also won coveted roles in Lone Scherfig’s adaptation of One Day and well as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises
