A SEQUEL to Ant-Man has been confirmed for the summer of 2018.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released on July 6, 2018, according to Marvel Studios.

The release date means that another Marvel title, Black Panther, will now move from July 6, 2018, to a February 16, 2018, release, and Captain Marvel will be pushed from November 2, 2018, to March 8, 2019.

The studio also scheduled three untitled Marvel movies for 2020: on May 1, July 10 and November 6. But there were no hints as to what these could be.

Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd as the mini hero, overcame a troubled shoot and pre-release fan-boy apathy to earn $178.5 million in the US alone and $231.3 million internationally, becoming the ninth-highest grosser of the year to date in the US.

The character will next be seen next in 2015’s Captain America: Civil War and remains an integral part of Marvel’s Phase 3 schedule.
