Armie Hammer to line up with Tom Cruise in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Story by Jack Foley
ARMIE Hammer is to star alongside Tom Cruise in Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
The casting announcement follows a lengthy search for a co-star for Cruise, who boarded the project in March, thereby preventing Ritchie from picking another movie to direct.
Based on the TV series of the same name that was created in the 1960s during the Cold War, The Man From U.N.C.L.E followed the spy adventures of American agent Napoleon Solo and Soviet agent Illya Kuryakin, played respectively by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hammer will play the McCallum role while Cruise takes on Vaughn’s.
Hammer has never looked back since shooting to prominence in David Fincher’s The Social Network playing the Winklevoss twins.
He will next be seen playing the eponymous role of The Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Depp this summer.
