Beyonce and Cameron Diaz for Ryan Murphy's One Hit Wonders

Story by Jack Foley

BEYONCE and Cameron Diaz have both signed up to star in One Hit Wonders, the new film from Glee creator Ryan Murphy.

The duo will be joined by Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon as singers who each had a hit song in the 1990s, but then faded into obscurity.

The musical will follow their story as they decide to join forces and create a supergroup and make a comeback.

According to various online reports, no script is yet in place but the Beyonce role has been created specifically with the singer in mind. It will mark her first major commitment since giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.

Murphy intends to direct the film and will write the script with his fellow Glee co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

Andy Samberg is also involved with the project as his band The Lonely Island will write the original music for the film.

As yet, no release date has been confirmed for the film.
