Brad Pitt in talks for World War Z sequel
Story by Jack Foley
BRAD Pitt has confirmed that he is in talks to appear in a sequel to World War Z.
The zombie movie had been set up as a potential trilogy but after running into production difficulties was released as a stand-alone this summer, with many predicting it would flop.
However, the film has since become Pitt’s highest-grossing movie of all time, taking in a global total of over $500 million (£323 million) and the actor has confirmed to trade publication Variety that efforts are now being made to revisit the material in at least one more film.
“We’re certainly talking about it,” he said. “We have so many ideas on the table from just the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how zombie worlds work.
“We have so many ideas and so much information, we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from. We’re going to do our best and see what we get out of it. We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further.”
Pitt’s co-star Mireille Enos, who played his wife in the film, would also “love to come back” but also cautioned about getting too far ahead of themselves until the right script could be found.
