Bradley Cooper replaces Jude Law on Jane Got A Gun
Story by Jack Foley
BRADLEY Cooper has replaced Jude Law on troubled Western Jane Got A Gun.
The revenge Western has been having difficulty keeping hold of its key talent ever since Michael Fassbender departed the project prior to shooting, to be replaced by Joel Edgerton.
Original director Lynne Ramsey then left abruptly (or failed to turn up for the first day of shooting) over creative and contract issues, prompting Law to depart days later.
Gavin O’Connor is now directing the movie, which is in production in New Mexico.
And Jane Got A Gun still boasts a top drawer replacement cast. Natalie Portman, who has been on board from the start, stars as a woman whose outlaw husband returns home riddled with bullet wounds.
When her husband’s gang eventually tracks him down to finish him off, she is forced to reach out to an ex-lover and ask if he will help defend her farm.
Edgerton is playing the ex-lover, while Cooper will now play the main villain.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor may have to film his scenes at a later date given that he is currently in the middle of shooting David O. Russell’s untitled movie, formerly known as American Bullshit, which is loosely inspired by the true-life Abscam sting of the late 1970s and early ’80s.
