Story by Jack Foley

BRADLEY Cooper is setting up American Sniper as a potential new star vehicle for himself.

The project marks the first he has found for his Warner Bros.-based production company, 22nd & Indiana, and is an adaptation of the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

The actor will also produce the film along with Andrew Lazar and Peter Morgan.

The book, which goes by the full name of American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History, examines how Kyle, a native of Texas, came to record the highest number of sniper kills for an American.

It was praised by many for the way it candidly relayed Kyle’s killing technique from a first person perspective, while also including passages from his wife on how he slowly turned his affections away from her towards the Navy SEALs.

Cooper is keeping himself busy at the moment, having completed four movies that are now set for release in the next year.

These include The Silver Linings Playbook, director David O. Russell’s follow-up to The Fighter as well as Serena with Jennifer Lawrence and, of course, The Hangover: Part 3.
