Bruce Willis in talks for GI Joe sequel

Die Hard 4.0

Story by Jack Foley

BRUCE Willis is reportedly in talks to join the cast of G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Die Hard star is being courted to play the original Joe.

That would mean him playing General Joe Colton, the man who in 1980s comic books starts the GI Joe strike team and got the handle ‘GI Joe’.

Paramount’s GI Joe sequel is being directed by Jon M. Chu and is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Aside from original actor Channing Tatum, the new film features an almost completely new cast, including Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and RZA.

Shooting is due to begin in New Orleans later this month with a June 29, 2012 release date.

Willis, whose last starring gig was the action movie Red, most recently completed the thriller Cold Light of Day, alongside Henry Cavill, and Looper, directed by Rian Johnson.
