Carla Bruni says yes to Woody Allen movie
Story by Jack Foley
CARLA Bruni, the first lady of France, will appear in Woody Allen’s next movie.
The wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy has agreed to play a minor role in the director’s next, as-yet untitled project when he starts shooting in France next summer.
The former supermodel and singer revealed that Allen had asked her to appear in his movie during an interview for Canal Plus television – although she does not know what her role will be.
“I do everything a little bit blindly. If I don’t, I won’t do anything,” she said. “I’m not at all an actress. Maybe I’ll be absolutely terrible. But I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this.”
The script for the English-French language movie is currently being finalised although details of plot and further casting are being kept typically tight under wraps by Allen, who has only recently revealed the name of his latest London-set piece, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.
